Where to see a Kangaroo

A Kangaroo Conservation Center is located in Dawsonville off of Georgia Highway 400. The center is dedicated to the preservation of kangaroo species and public education.
Currently exhibiting more than 300 kangaroos of eight species, the center has successfully bred and cared for over a dozen different kinds of marsupials. One problem for American zoos is finding healthy kangaroo.
It is very difficult to purchase kangaroos from Australia because of government regulations. Roger and Debby Nelson, who own the Kangaroo Conservation Center began working with wildlife 20 years ago.
Now they are considered two of the world’s leading experts on kangaroo.
The Conservation Center in Dawsonville is considered
to be one of the largest breeding centers of kangaroo for zoos in the
U.S. For more information, go to www.kangaroocenter.com...
