Warm Springs
In ancient times, Warm Springs was used by the Indians who brought their wounded warriors to the waters after battles. The springs became famous when Franklin D. Roosevelt discovered the water offered relief for his polio-stricken legs.

Tallulah Gorge
This natural canyon is two miles long and 1,000 feet deep. There is a new suspension bridge swaying 80 feet above the gorge floor and a great interpretive center with an award-winning film, trails, and
overlooks.
There are many legends about Tallulah Gorge. The Indian name “Tallulah” means “terrible.” The Indians avoided the area, believing that it was full of evil spirits. For information, call 706-754-7970 or go to www.stateparks.org.
